Why is Coronavirus Cancelling Sports (2020)
Sports And The Coronavirus
Coronavirus has started to affect everyone all around the world. It’s a virus that is spreading from person to person at a rapid pace. Because this is a severe problem, pretty much all sporting events have been canceled. That or local officials have put a ban on people gathering in place, so stadiums are being played in with no audience.
Coronavirus is dangerous because it can harm people that have compromised immune systems or babies and older people. Generally, it doesn’t kill people that are healthy and able to combat the virus with their bodies. However, a healthy person can get the Coronavirus and spread it to someone that is at risk for this virus is deadly to them. That’s why there are no gatherings allowed in most areas at this time. So, while some sports are being played, they are being performed to stadiums with nobody in them, so the virus doesn’t have a chance to spread around more.
There are some sports that you can still see if you’re willing to travel. For instance, some matches that were supposed to take place in China have been moved to other countries for the time being. But, a lot of sports in China have been canceled until 2021 just to be safe. In the U.S.A., most sports have been put on hold for now. This means that it can be a little boring for sports lovers to stay at home since their favorite games are not going to be on television. At this time, it’s best to just stay in and try to keep busy with other things.
Coronavirus is Ruining Sports
Even sports players are getting the Coronavirus, which has caused sports to come to a halt for now. For instance, in the N.B.A. a Jazz player named Rudy Golbert came down with the virus. Then, it spread to Donovan Mitchell, so that just shows you how easily this virus can go from person to person. President Trump in the U.S.A. said to cancel the Olympics for a year if possible, but it looks like it’s still up in the air whether they will go on as planned.
Now you know why Coronavirus canceled sports pretty much. In these trying times, it’s good to be patient and wait for things to get back to normal. Depending on where you live, this could be over in a few weeks to a few months.
